demigods can go to the planets of the respective demigods. The
Moon worshipers can go to the Moon, the Sun worshipers can
go to the planet of the Sun, and so on. Modern scientists are
now trying lo go to the Moon with the help of rockets, which
is not really a new attempt. The human being with his advanced
consciousness is naturally inclined to travel in outer space and to
reach other plancts, cither by sputniks, by mystic powers, or
by worshiping the particular predominating dcity on that
planet. In the Vedic scriptures it is said that one can reach other
planets in any of the ways mentioned above, most gencrally by
worshiping the demigod presiding over the particular planct. But
these planets are temporary residential places; the only per-
manent plancts are the Vaikuntha-lokas, found in the spiritual
sky, where the Personality of Godhead predominates. The
Bhagavad-gila confirms this as follows:

Even though one may rise to the highest planct, Brahma-

loka, one has to come back again. But if someone attains

to Me (in the spiritual world), he doesn’t have to Lake
birth again.

Sri Isopanisad suggests that one remains in the darkest region
by hovering over the material planets, whatever his means may
be. The whole universe is covered by the gigantic matcrial
clements, just like a coconut ball half-filled with water. As it is
airtight and fully covered, the darkness within is dense, and
therefore planets like the Sun and the Moon are required to
illuminale the inside of the universe. Outside the universe
there is a vast expansion of unlimited Brahma-jyoli space, full
of Vaikuntha-lokas.

The biggest and the highest planet in the Brahma-jyoli is the
Krsna-loka, or Goloka Vrndavana, where the Personality of
Godhead, Sri Krsna, resides. Lord Sri Krsna never quits this
Krsna-loka where Ile dwells with Ifis eternal associates, and yet
He is omnipresent throughout the complete material and spiritual
