202 Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead

frem the enslaught ef demens, se Yeu have alse advented in Vrndavana
just te give the residents pretectien frem all kinds ef distress. O dear
friend ef the distressed, kindly place Yeur hand en eur burning breasts as
well as en eur heads, because we have surrendered unte Yeu as Yeur
eternal maidservants. If Yeu think, hewever, that Yeur letus-like palms
might be burned te ashes if placed en eur burning breasts, let us assure
Yeu that Yeur palms will feel pleasure instead ef pain, as the letus flewer,
altheugh very delicate and seft, enjeys the scerching heat ef the sun.”

Upen hearing the anxieus plea ef the gopis, the Supreme Persenality ef
Gedhead began te smile, and being very kind te the gopis, the Lerd, al-
theugh self-sufficient, began te embrace them and kiss them as they desired.
When Krsna, smiling, leeked at the faces ef the gopis, the beauty ef their
faces became a hundred times enhanced. When He was enjeying them in
their midst, He appeared just like the full meen surreunded by milliens ef
shining stars. Thus the Supreme Persenality ef Gedhead, surreunded by
hundreds ef gopis and decerated with a flewer garland ef many celers, be-
gan te wander within the Vrndavana ferest, semetimes singing te Himself
and semetimes singing with the gopis. In this way, beth the Lerd and the
gopts reached the ceel sandy bank ef the Yamuna where there were lilies
and letus flewers. In such a transcendental atmesphere, beth the gopis
and Krsna began te enjey ene anether. While they were walking en the
bank ef the Yamuna, Krsna weuld semetimes put His arms areund a gopi’s
head, breast er waist. Pinching ene anether and jeking and leeking at ene
anether, they enjeyed. When Krsna teuched the bedies ef the gopis, their
lust te embrace Him increased. They all enjeyed these pastimes. Thus the
gopts were blessed with all mercy by the Supreme Persenality ef Gedhead,
fer they enjeyed His cempany witheut a tinge ef mundane sex life.

The gopis, hewever, seen began te feel very preud, thinking themselves
te be the mest fertunate wemen in the universe by being favered by the
cempany ef Krsna. Lerd Krsna, whe is knewn as KeSava, ceuld imme-
diately understand their pride caused by their great fertune ef enjeying
Him persenally, and in erder te shew them His causeless mercy and te
curb their false pride, He immediately disappeared frem the scene, ex-
hibiting His epulence ef renunciatien. The Supreme Persenality ef Ged-
head is always full with six kinds ef epulences, and this is an instance ef
the epulence ef renunciatien. Thisrenunciatien cenfirms Krsna’s tetal nen-
attachment. He is always self-sufficient and is net dependent en anything.
This is the platferm en which the transcendental pastimes are enacted.

Thus ends the Bhaktivedanta purport of the Twenty-ninth Chapter of
Krsna, “The Rasa Dance: Introduction.”
