Description of the Rasa Dance 221
ferced te accept a certain type ef bedy by his previeus actiens. But when
Krsna appears, He always appears in a bedy; it is not forced upon Him by
the action of His past deeds. His bedy is a vehicle fer His transcendental
pleasure which is enacted by His internal petency. He has ne ebligatien te
the laws ef karma. The Mayavadi menist must accept a certain type ef
bedy, being ferced by the laws ef nature; therefere, his claim te be ene
with Krsna er Ged is enly theeretical. Such persens whe claim te be equal
with Krsna and indulge in rasa-lila create a dangereus situatien fer the
peeple in general. Krsna, the Supreme Persenality ef Gedhead, is already
present as Superseul within the bedies ef the gopis and their husbands. He
is the guide ef all living entities, as is cenfirmed in the Katha Upanisad,
nityo nityanam cetanas cetananam. The Superseul directs the individual
seul te act, and the Superseul is the acter and witness ef all actien.

It is cenfirmed in the Bhagavad-gita that Krsna is present in everyene’s
heart, and frem Him ceme all actien, remembrance and fergetfulness. He
is the eriginal persen te be knewn by Vedic knewledge. He is the auther
ef Vedanta philesephy, and He knews the Vedanta philesephy perfectly
well. The se-called Vedantists and Mayavadis cannet understand Krsna as
He is; they simply mislead fellewers by imitating the actiens ef Krsna in
an unautherized way. Krsna, the Superseul ef everyene, is already within
the bedy ef everyene; therefere if He sees semeene er embraces semeone
there is ne questien ef prepriety.

Seme ask that if Krsna is self-sufficient, why sheuld He at all manifest
pastimes with the gopis which are disturbing te the se-called meralists ef
the werld? The answer is that such activities shew special mercy te the
fallen, cenditiened seuls. The gopis are alse expansiens ef His internal
energy, but because Krsna wanted te exhibit the rdse-lila, they alse
appeared as erdinary human beings. In the material werld, pleasure is
ultimately manifested in the sex attractien between man and weman. The
man lives simply te be attracted by wemen, and the weman lives simply te
be attracted by men. That is the basic principle ef material life. As seen as
these attractiens are cembined, peeple beceme mere and mere implicated
in material existence. In erder te shew them special faver, Krsna ex-
hibited this rasa-lila dance. It is just te captivate the cenditiened seul.
Since they are very much attracted by sexelegy, they can enjey the same
life with Krsna and thus beceme liberated frem the material cenditien. In
the Secend Cante ef Srimad-Bhagavatam, Maharaja Pariksit alse explains
that the pastimes and activities ef Lerd Krsna are medicine fer the
cenditiened seuls. If they simply hear abeut Krsna they beceme relieved
frem the material disease. They are addicted te material enjeyment and
