Srila Prabhupada gave the world not only ideas but cultural institutions—for instance, K rsna conscious
temples where people can chant the names of the Lord, feast on delicious vegetarian Sood offered to
Him, and learn the science of self-realization. Among the more than one hundred temples Srila Prabhu-
pada founded are (1) ISKCON's Western world-headquarters in Los Angeles, (2) ISKCON'’s Euro-
pean headquarters just outside London, and (3) the Krsna-Balarama Temple and International
Guesthouse in Vrndavana, India. In addition, Srila Prabhupdda introduced authentic Vedic festivals —
notably Ratha-yatra, the “Festival of the Chariots." This two-thousand-year-old event literally brings
the temple to the people, and Srila Prabhupdada was always eager to take part, as here
(4) in San Francisco 1969, (5) in London 1973, and (6) in New York 1976.
